Women's Soccer Notes: Panthers Host Home Opener Before Beginning GLIAC Play on Road

This Week:
The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team hosts their home opener vs the Alderson-Broaddus Battlers at 7 p.m.on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at Panther Field. ODU than travels to Michigan to begin GLIAC play with weekend games at 7 p.m.on Friday, Sept. 10 at Michigan Tech and 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12 at Northern Michigan.

ODU captured a 1-0 victory at the University of Indianapolis last Thursday for the school's first victory as an NCAA Division II member. Junior Kaylin Hunsaker (Springboro, OH) broke a scoreless draw in the 79th minute, splitting two Greyhound defenders and connecting on a pass up the middle from Sierra Patterson (Jr./Brecksville, OH). For the game, the Panthers held UIndy to just five shots, one shot on goal and posted a 5-0 advantage on corner kicks.

About the Panthers:

The Battlers enter the game with a 1-1 record after falling on the road to Edinboro (Pa.) 1-0 in their season opener and tying Clarion (Pa.) 2-2 in 2OT this past weekend. This is the first ever meeting between the Panthers and Battlers.
