Women's Golf, Swensen Set School Records on Day One of NC4K Classic

BLACKLICK, Ohio – Junior Abby Swensen (Milford, Ohio) broke the Ohio Dominican women's golf scoring record with a 2-under par 70 to lead the women's golf team to a new school record 307 on day one of the NC4K Classic at Jefferson Country Club Monday.

Swensen had back-to-back birdies on the fourth and fifth hole to garner a 34 on the front before shooting an even 36 on the back. She had just two bogeys on the round and was third in the field with 14 pars.

Fellow junior Bailey Krueger (Canal Winchester, Ohio) tied her second best score of the year shooting a 76 on day one with an even 36 on the front before shooting 40 on the back as she sits in a tie for 12th.

Emma Romine (Marysville, Ohio) sits in a tie for 25th after shooting 79 and freshman Alex Gomez (Morrow, Ohio) rounded out the scoring with an 82 to place her tied for 41st.

Senior Kaylin Dill (Sedalia, Ohio) sits tied for 83rd after shooting 91 to round out the Panther five.

Playing as individuals in this tournament, freshman Natalie Parker (Ostrander, Ohio) sits tied for 29th after posting her best round of 80 while junior Tori Jones (Ashland, Ohio) tied her season low with an 82 to sit tied for 41st.

Sophomore Ava Illig (Seville, Ohio) also posted her best round of the year shooting 85 while senior Bailey Stephens (Mt. Sterling, Ohio) shot 103 to round out the Panther team.

Round two of the NC4K Classic begins at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at Jefferson Country Club.
