PATASKALA, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's women's golf team set a new 36-hole school scoring record recording a 626 over the two rounds at the Cumberland Trail Classic where the finished third in the event.
The event saw 15 schools playing with 83 total players.
Wayne State won the event shooting 604 over the two days while Saginaw Valley was second with a 624. Placing in a tie for fourth was Gannon and Maryville who posted a score of 628. Sara Suazo of Saginaw Valley was the medalist as she posted rounds of 71 and 73.
Leading the way for the Panthers was junior Bailey Krueger (Canal Winchester, Ohio) who placed in a tie for seventh for her fourth top-10 performance of her career. Krueger posted scores of 75 and 76 which also gave her her best 36-hole performance in her career. The junior also was tied for fourth in the field playing the par-3's at even par.
Fellow classmate, Abby Swensen (Milford, Ohio) also set a new 36-hole personal best shooting 153 with rounds of 77 and 76 which placed her 13th overall for her 11th top-20 finish of her career.
Placing in a tie for 24th was senior Kaylin Dill (Sedalia, Ohio) who posted rounds of 78 and 84 which also set a 36-hole record for her at 162.
Junior Emma Romine (Marysville, Ohio) placed tied for 33rd as she made up four shots from the 84 yesterday to post an 80 today. Fellow junior Tori Jones (Ashland, Ohio) rounded out the Panther five as she placed tied for 39th with rounds of 82 and 84.
