Columbus, Ind. -- Ohio Dominican's women's golf team finished fourth at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Fall Invitational shooting a combined score of 999 in three rounds at Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, Indiana.
The two day 54-hole event saw 11 teams with 58 players.
After a 328 in the first round, the Panthers posted scores of 331 and 340 in the second and third round. Findlay won the event shooting 876 while Tiffin and Trevecca were second and third shooting 969 and 974, respectively. Walsh was fifth as they finished two shots behind the Panthers at 1,001. Kristina Kniesly of Findlay won the event shooting 214 which included a 5-under 67 in the third round.
Leading the way for the Panthers was junior Bailey Krueger (Canal Winchester, Ohio) who placed in a tie for 13th. After a first round 83, Krueger came back to shoot 78 in the second round before posting an 82 in the final round.
Finishing in a tie for 20th was senior Kaylin Dill (Sedalia, Ohio). Dill posted first and second round scores of 82 before shooting an 86 in the final round. Behind Dill was junior Emma Romine (Marysville, Ohio) who, after shooting an 89 in the first round, improved by nine shots in the second to shoot 80 and shot 84 in the final round to place tied for 24th.
After firing a tie for her career best 75 in the first round, junior Abby Swensen (Milford, Ohio) shot 91 and 93 in the second and third rounds to place tied for 27th. Rounding out the Panther five was fellow junior Tori Jones (Ashland, Ohio). Jones shot 88 in both rounds one and three while sandwiching a 91 in the second round to place 34th.
Playing as an individual for the Panthers was sophomore Ava Illig (Seville, Ohio) who finished 38th. Illig posted an 88 on the first round before posting scores of 92 and 94 in the final two rounds.
Ohio Dominican has a quick turnaround as the women host the CT Classic at Cumberland Trail Golf Course on Saturday, September 22nd and Sunday, September 23rd.
