PATASKALA, Ohio — A round two score of 320 helped Ohio Dominican's women's golf team to a fifth place finish at the ODU Cumberland Trail Classic on Sunday.
ODU finished with a team score of 644 (324-320) to tie Gannon and Malone for fifth place overall and saw three of its golfers record top 20 finishes.
Sophomore Bailey Krueger (Canal Winchester, Ohio) led the way for the Panthers, shooting a 77 in round two after shooting a team-best round of 79 on day one for a total score of 156, good enough for 14th place overall. Krueger led the field in Par 3 scoring with an average of 2.75, shooting -2 on Par 3s for the tournament.
Finishing in a tie for 15th overall was sophomore Abby Swensen (Milford, Ohio), who recorded a total score of 157 (80-77). Swensen notched two birdies and nine pars during round two, shooting a career-low in the second round after tying a career low with her 80 in round one.
Sophomore Emma Romine (Marysville, Ohio) improved on her round one score of 80 on day two, shooting a 78 in the second round to finish 18th and tie a career-low round score.
Ohio Dominican has recorded back-to-back top five finishes and will travel to Springfield, Ohio on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8 for its next tournament, Clash at the Clouse.
