ERIE, Pa. — With a two-round team score of 673 (340-333), Ohio Dominican's women's golf team finished 11th out of 23 competing teams at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic, hosted by Gannon University at the Lake Shore Country Club.
ODU saw five golfers lower their scores on the second day of the tournament from day one. Leading the way for the Panthers in both rounds was sophomore Emma Romine (Marysville, Ohio), who finished in a tie for 21st out of 117 competitors with a 161 (81-80), just two strokes shy of her career-low. Romine led the Panthers on Par 3s, averaging a 3.38 to finish +3 on Par 3s for the tournament.
Sophomore Bailey Krueger (Canal Winchester, Ohio) recorded a 165 (84-81) to come in a tie for 32nd and notched the second-highest finish for Ohio Dominican.
Leading the Panthers in Par 5 scoring was junior Kaylin Dill (Sedalia, Ohio), who shot a 175 (91-84). Dill averaged a 5.25 on Par 5s to finish +2 on long distance holes.
Sophomore Abby Swensen (Milford, Ohio) finished with the second-lowest round one score for ODU with an 84, and junior Bailey Stephens (Mt. Sterling, Ohio) and sophomore Tori Jones (Ashland, Ohio) each improved on their round one scores on day two of the tournament.
ODU will hit the course for competition again on Monday, September 18 for the first day of the Great Midwest Fall Championship at Findlay Country Club.
