COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team looks to snap a two-game skid as the Panthers play host to Malone and Walsh in Alumni Hall this week.
ODU had a nice offensive rhythm last week but fell by scores of 81-69 and 93-79 to Cedarville and Tiffin last week. The Panthers shot 47.5 percent from the field last week, averaging 74.0 points per game, and also shot 38.5 percent from behind the arc.
Alli Kern averaged 8.0 rebounds per contest last week and has turned into one of the best offensive rebounders in the conference. She's third in the league with 2.9 offensive boards per game, and she's averaging 7.7 rebounds per game in the month of January.
After averaging 61.2 points per game in December, ODU has seen its production climb this month, scoring 74.1 points per game in the last seven contests and shooting 44.7 percent from the field (38.2 percent from three.) ODU has scored at least 69 points in six of the seven games this month.
The Panthers are now fifth in the league in field goal percentage (42.4 percent) and are the third-best in the conference from beyond the arc at 36.1 percent. ODU also sits fourth in the conference with 14.6 assists per game.
In ODU's Division II era, the Panthers are 7-6 against Walsh. The Cavaliers took the first meeting between the teams on Nov. 29.
The Panthers 8-4 against Malone dating back to the 2010-11 season and have won six in a row in the series. ODU built a 26 point first half lead against the Pioneers on Dec. 1 en route to a 64-55 victory.
