INDIANAPOLIS – Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team was projected to finish fifth in the 2018-19 G-MAC Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour.
The Panthers garnered 122 points in the preseason voting after finishing in a tie for fifth place in the conference in the 2017-18 season, going 18-11 overall with a 14-8 conference mark.
Hillsdale and Findlay each picked up 153 points to pace the league preseason voting, while Walsh and Cedarville each tallied 142 points to tie for third in front of ODU.
ODU has two double-figure scorers back this season in junior guard Alexa Fisher (Powell, Ohio) and senior guard Alexis Overly (Chillicothe, Ohio). Fisher averaged a team-best 13.1 points per game, shooting 42.2 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from behind the arc. Overly averaged 10.7 points per game and led the Panthers with 3.8 assists per contest.
A pair of sophomores off the bench in guard Angela Troyer (Sugarcreek, Ohio) and forward Olivia Fox (Newark, Ohio) appeared in all 29 games for ODU last year. The Panthers welcome seven newcomers to the roster this season, including junior guard and Northern Kentucky transfer Hannah Clark (Glenmont, Ohio) and sophomore forward and Quincy transfer Taylor Harazin (Aurora, Ill.), along with five freshmen.
The Panthers will play host to Quincy at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 to start their season, followed by a 3 p.m. contest against Ashland on Saturday, Nov. 10 in Alumni Hall.
