COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team will look to close the regular season on a high note as the Panthers play host to Alderson Broaddus and Davis & Elkins before entering the conference tournament.
Earlier this season, ODU defeated Davis & Elkins 73-64 on Jan. 11 and rallied to beat Alderson Broaddus 79-74 on Jan. 13 in West Virginia.
The Panthers will look to snap a four-game slide, playing the majority of those games with just seven healthy players dressed in uniform. ODU had second-half leads in three of the games before faltering down the stretch.
Sophomore Alexa Fisher (Powell, Ohio) has stepped up to shoulder the scoring load as she is averaging 20.2 points per game in six contests this month, shooting 43.5 percent from the field and 36.2 percent from the three-point line. She's also getting to the free throw line five times per game this month, hitting on 77.4 percent.
Senior Darian Rose (Fort Loramie, Ohio) has been a steady scoring threat for much of the season, tallying double figures in points in 14 of the last 16 games. Since the start of the new year, she's pouring in 14.3 points in the past 14 games, along with 4.0 assists per game in that stretch.
Junior Alexis Overly (Chillicothe, Ohio) has been one of the most consistent distributors of the basketball in the league this year, averaging 3.7 helpers per game. After tallying 61 assists as a freshman and sophomore, she has 93 assists this season and is on the verge of being just the 11th ODU player since 1999-2000 to surpass 100 assists in a season.
Sophomore Brittleigh Macaulay (Big Prairie, Ohio) and senior Devin Conley (Danville, Ky.) have stepped up on the glass in the absences of seniors Megan Eyre (Fayetteville, Ohio) and Sarah Futscher (Wilder, Ky.). Macaulay is averaging 8.7 rebounds per game in the last three with Conley pulling down 6.3 rebounds per game in that stretch.
