Fisher Scores 30, Women's Basketball Falls To Ursuline

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Playing its fourth game in seven days, Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team suffered an 80-67 setback at home against Ursuline on Saturday afternoon in G-MAC play.

Sophomore guard Alexa Fisher (Powell, Ohio) dropped 30 points on 9-of-17 shooting to go with six assists, becoming the first Panther since Summer Hale on Feb. 13, 2010, to score 30 points in a game. She also recorded five steals.

She was joined in double figures by junior guard Alexis Overly (Chillicothe, Ohio), who added 16 points with six rebounds and four assists. Senior Darian Rose (Fort Loramie, Ohio) also chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds.

Fisher came out firing in the first quarter, scoring 13 points to help keep the Panthers (16-10, 12-8 G-MAC) close at 21-19 through the end of the frame. Ursuline, however, opened the second quarter on a 10-0 run in the first three minutes to grab a double-digit lead that stretched out to as much as 14 in the period as ODU trailed 42-32 at the break.

The Panthers hung tight early in the third, closing within six on a pair of occasions, including 44-38 with 7:12 to play on a pair of Rose free throws. However, Ursuline (19-7, 16-4 G-MAC) scored the next seven points to back on top by double figures, and ODU could only close to within 11 for the rest of the contest.

Sophomore Brittleigh Macaulay (Big Prairie, Ohio) pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds while senior Devin Conley (Danville, Ky.) added an ODU-best eight boards as well.

The Panthers shot 33.3 percent (23-of-69) compared to 48.6 percent (34-of-70) for the Arrows.
