COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team wraps up a stretch of playing six of seven games on the road as the Panthers travel to Northeast Ohio to take on Ursuline at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Lake Erie at 3 p.m. Saturday.
The Panthers are 4-0 against Ursuline since the 2011-12 season, and this is the first matchup between the teams since Nov. 14, 2014, a 96-65 ODU win. ODU is 9-5 against Lake Erie since 2011 and has won five straight in the series.
ODU has played just one home game since Dec. 19 but has still scored 70 or more points in each of its past nine games. During that stretch, ODU is putting up 79.2 points per contest on 45.3 percent shooting from the field and 35.7 percent shooting from behind the arc. A balanced lineup has six players averaging at least 9.8 points per game in those nine games, and the Panthers are 4-1 on the road in that stretch as well.
Senior Sarah Futscher (Wilder, Ky.) is leading the G-MAC and ranks ninth in the country in field goal percentage. She's shooting 60.4 percent from the field overall and paces the team in scoring (13.0 ppg) and rebounding (6.6 rpg) and has shot better than 50 percent in 14 of 16 games.
Classmate Darian Rose (Fort Loramie, Ohio) has heated up, averaging 14.6 points per game over the last six contests. She's hit nine of her last 11 three-pointers as well.
Sophomore Alexa Fisher (Powell, Ohio) is the only Panther to score 22 or more points in multiple games this season. After netting 26 earlier this season against Bellarmine, Fisher put up 22 in Saturday's win at Alderson Broaddus, to go along with five steals and four assists.
