COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Following a 10-day layoff, Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team will take on Malone and Findlay in G-MAC action on Saturday and Tuesday.
The Panthers return to the hardwood for the first time since a resounding 93-73 win over Bellarmine on Dec. 19, a game in which the Panthers shot 51.6 percent from the field (32-of-62). Alexa Fisher set career highs in points (26) and rebounds (eight), while Brittleigh Macaulay (6-of-6) and Megan Eyre (5-of-5) both were perfect from the field. Macaulay finished with 16 points and six boards off the bench, while Eyre had 12 points and five rebounds in the win.
The Panthers continue to sport one of the league's most prolific offenses, entering the week fourth in scoring (76.9 ppg), field goal percentage (44.2) and assists (16.2). ODU also sits third in free throw percentage (74.2) and is second in the G-MAC in steals (9.9).
Since 2010, ODU has a 6-4 record against Malone and has won four straight in the series, all by double figures. These teams last met on Feb. 13, 2016, with ODU taking a 75-42 win in Stark County.
This will be the second meeting of the year between ODU and the Oilers, with Findlay winning 85-72 in Alumni Hall on Dec. 13. The Oilers shot 52.5 percent from the field, making 11 threes, in that contest. Sarah Futscher and Darian Rose each had 13 points to pace the Panthers.
