Women's Basketball Suffers Setback To No. 1 Ashland

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team dropped a 115-60 decision to No. 1 Ashland in the season opener on Friday.

Senior forward Sarah Futscher (Wilder, Ky.) led the Panthers with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting and pulled a team-high six rebounds. Senior guard Megan Eyre (Fayetteville, Ohio) scored nine points, sophomore forward Brittleigh Macaulay (Big Prairie, Ohio) scored eight points with five rebounds and freshman forward Olivia Fox (Newark, Ohio) also scored eight points.

The Panthers started the game on a 7-2 run, but Ashland took a 32-19 lead at the end of the first quarter and continued to pull away.

Ohio Dominican continues play at the Midwest Region Crossover at 1 p.m. Saturday against Wisconsin-Parkside.
