BEXLEY, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's men's and women's indoor track and field teams both got wins at the Rick Meindl Last Call Meet Friday evening at the Cap Center on the campus of Capital University.
The men's team accrued 151 points while the women scored 128 with Wilmington coming in second in both.
On the men's side, Lance Warren (Memphis, Tennessee) and Bobby Bogantz (Sunbury, Ohio) each earned first place wins. Warren on the 60 meter dash with a tie of 7.23 while Bogantz won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:01.86.
Senior Clayton Seymour (Ashville, Ohio) led the Panthers in the field events with a pair of second place finishes in the shot put with a distance of 14.74 meters and the weight throw with a distance of 14.72 meters. Also in the field events, Alex Botello (Hilliard, Ohio) finished second in the pole vault clearing 4.25 meters. Isaiah Smith (Logan, Ohio) was third in the long jump jumping 1.75 meters into the pit.
Earning second place finishes back on the track was Nick Middlesworth (Marion, Ohio) and Omar Jalloh (Pataskala, Ohio). Middlesworth earned his second place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.66 while Jalloh finished with a time of 23.61 in the 200 meter dash.
Coming in with third place finishes for the men were Cam Brandon (Cleveland, Ohio) and Adam Kamel (Brook Park, Ohio). Brandon finished the 60 meter hurdles in 8.67 while Kamel finished the 800 meter run in 2:02.41.
Leading the way on the women's side was junior Shaunqueza Stevens (Dublin, Ohio) who had a pair of first place finishes as she won the 60 m dash in a time of 7.91 and the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.62.
ODU went first through fourth in the 60 meter dash with Stevens winning, Bryanna Barber (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) finishing second with a time of 8.10, Dominique Washington (Gahanna, Ohio) in third with a time of 8.27 and Anaya Murdock (Cincinnati, Ohio) finishing fourth with a time of 8.50.
Barber also had a first place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.09 and Washington finished third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.19.
Also placing third was junior Megan Tamasovich (Canal Winchester, Ohio) who ran a time of 9.88 in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.88.
In the field events, Kaysi Morris won the pole vault clearing 3.00 meters. Sophomore Zoie Fisher (West Jefferson, Ohio) finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 9.65 and finished third in the long jump with a distance of 4.61 meters.
ODU is back at it on Friday and Saturday, February 22 and 23 at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.
