COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's indoor track and field teams will compete at the Marietta First Glimpse this Saturday on the campus of Marietta University with the first event set to take off at 11 a.m. with the high jump.
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference indoor track and field coaches poll was released last Thursday by the conference office where the men were projected to finish eighth with 76 points and the owmen to finish 11th with 48 points..
Tiffin is projected to win the conference as they tallied 138 points and nine first place votes while Findlay was just behind with 136 points and three first place votes. The final first place vote went to Walsh as they are projected to finish third with 115 points total.
The Panther men return four seniors in Clayton Seymour (Ashville, Ohio), Connor Cooley (London, Ohio) and Alejandro Serna (Duncanville, Texas) while also bringing back an indoor podium finishers in Bobby Bogantz (Sunbury, Ohio) and junior Draven Bass (Circleville, Ohio).
Seymour and Cooley will man the throwing events on the men's side. Seymour had four top 10 finishs during the indoor season a year ago and 15 overall while Colley had two top 10 finishes. Serna will do the distance running with the mile run, 800 meters, 3K, 5K and DMR where he had five top 10 finishes a year ago.
Bogantz and Bass were each members of the 4x400 relay team that won the G0MAC Outdoor Championships. Bass had 28 top 10 finishes a year ago with 10 first place finishes while Bogantz had five top 10 finishes a year ago during the indoor season while
On the women's side, Hillsdale is projected to win the conference with 168 points and 12 first place votes while Walsh was second with 154 and Tiffin had the other two first place votes and are projected to finish third with 134 points.
The Panther women also bring back four seniors in Micaela Carroll (Parma, Ohio), Kristen Noecker (Circleville, Ohio), Imani Stepney (Columbus, Ohio) and Monica Tumblin (Pataskala, Ohio) along with indoor second place high jump competitor in Megan Tamasovich (Canal Winchester, Ohio).
Tamasovich finished the indoor season with 11 top-10 finishes where she had four first place finishes in the high jump at the Joe Banks Invitational with her best jump of 1.64 meters.
Carroll and Noecker ran the distance events for the women with Carroll having one top-10 finish during the indoor season and Noecker posting a season best time of 6:02.68 in the mle run at the Joe Banks Invitational.
Tumblin had three top-10 finishes as an individual while adding two top five finishes as a member of the 4x400 relay teams while Stepney was a member of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams.
A year ago, the indoor track and field teams each placed second at the Marietta First Glimpse.
