Carroll Makes Track & Field Program History, Qualifies For Division II Outdoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS — Ohio Dominican track & field senior Justin Carroll (Berea, Ohio) saved the best run of his Panther career for the G-MAC Outdoor Championships, a mark which has earned him a trip to the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Carroll's conference record time of 1:50.24 in the men's 800 meter run is seeded as the 15th-fastest in NCAA Division II, earning him the opportunity to compete for a national championship in the event. He holds 13 school records, but also becomes the first ODU track & field student-athlete to qualify for a national championship.

Preliminaries in the 800 at the Division II Outdoor Championships will be ran starting at 6:05 p.m. on Friday, May 25, with the finals in the event scheduled for 5:05 p.m. on Saturday, May 26. Johnson C. Smith University will play host to the meet, with competition taking place at the Irwin Belk Complex.
