COLUMBUS, Ohio — In its third competition of the 2017 spring season, Ohio Dominican's track and field team will compete in the Otterbein April Fools Invitational on Saturday, April 1 on the campus of Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio.
Field events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with the men's and women's hammer throw, and running events will start at 12 p.m. with the women's 100 meter hurdle preliminaries.
ODU is coming off a strong performance at the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational at Muskingum University on Saturday. Freshman Anthony Woods (Macedonia, Ohio) set meet records in the men's 100 and 200 meter dashes, finishing in 10.92 in the 100 and boasting a time of 22.07 in the 200.
Freshman Draven Bass (Circleville, Ohio) set the outdoor school record in the men's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.75, and overall, ODU's men's team took second place out of eight competing squads with 114.50 points.
The women's squad saw the 4x100 meter relay team of freshman Bryanna Barber (Reynoldsburg, Ohio), junior Ryanna Reid (Columbus, Ohio), freshman Shaunqueza Stevens (Dublin, Ohio) and sophomore Imani Stepney (Columbus, Ohio) set the outdoor school record in the 4x100 with a finish of 49.26. Freshman Emma Barth (Dayton, Ohio) recorded strong performances in the field for the women, finishing sixth out of 26 in the shot put with a throw of 33.99 meters. Barth also finished in the top half of the field in the hammer throw, taking seventh out of 20 with a distance of 38.11 meters.
