COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's track and field team will compete in the GLIAC Indoor Championships at Robert A. Malcolm Athletic Center at the University of Findlay on Saturday, February 25 and Sunday, February 26.
Competition will begin on Saturday with the women's pentathlon at 10 a.m. and the Men's heptathlon at 10:25 a.m., with the men's distance medley relay wrapping up competition at 7:15 p.m. On Sunday, the women's mile will start off the day at 12:30 p.m., and the awards presentation will mark the conclusion of the championships at 4:15 p.m.
Overall, 22 Panthers will be competing throughout the weekend. Ohio Dominican track and field student-athletes have set four indoor school records this season. Freshman Anthony Woods (Macedonia, Ohio) set the indoor school record in the men's 60 meter dash at the Tiffin Dragon Invite on February 11 with a time of 6.85, which is an NCAA provisional mark and currently ranks as the 30th-fastest time in the men's 60 meter dash in NCAA Division II this season.
Junior Justin Carroll (Berea, Ohio) established a men's indoor school record in the 300 meter run on December 3, 2016 at Tiffin, finishing in 37.47. He has competed in five different events this year and recorded seven top 10 finishes overall.
Freshman Bryanna Barber (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) established the women's indoor record in the 300 meter run at Tiffin on December 3, finishing in 46.55. Barber has competed in the 60, 200, 300 and 400 meter events this year, finishing in the top 10 in her respective events three times.
Senior Shakita Kabicek (Brook Park, Ohio) set the indoor women's record in the 1,000 meter run on February 4 at Mount Union, using a time of 3:09.62 to set her fourth indoor school record. Kabicek will run in the 800 on Sunday.
In the field for ODU, sophomores Connor Cooley (London, Ohio) and Clayton Seymour (Ashville, Ohio) will compete in the men's shot put and weight throw, and freshmen Emma Barth (Dayton, Ohio) and Alexis Kefauver (Whitehall, Ohio) will compete in the women's weight throw and shot put for the Panthers.
