COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior catcher Kelly Mix (Baltimore, Ohio) of the Ohio Dominican softball team was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District First Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third team (when selected) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
A Business Administration and Accounting major, Mix graduated with a 3.98 grade point average. She is just one of three student-athletes from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference to be named to the First Team.
Mix played in 50 games this past season where she hit .345 with 34 RBI's and 31 runs scored. She hit 13 doubles with four home runs as her slugging percentage was .554 with an on-base percentage of .410.
Mix and the rest of the Panthers earned the G-MAC regular season championship finishing with a conference record of 21-5 while being 32-22 overall on the season.
