INDIANAPOLIS – Junior pitcher Cameron Barber (Powell, Ohio) of Ohio Dominican's softball team was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday morning. (4/29)
Barber was 3-0 last week with three complete games and an ERA of just 0.64 allowing two runs in 22.0 innings. Over the week, she struck out 30 batters while not allowing a single walk.
She had double-digit strikeouts in two of the three games beginning the week with 11 strikeouts of Malone hitters while allowing one run on six hits. Against Ursuline this Saturday, Barber had nine K's while allowing one run on seven hits before closing the week with a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts against Lake Erie Sunday afternoon.
In her win over Lake Erie, Barber and the rest of the Panthers clinched the G-MAC Regular Season title and head into the conference tournament with a 32-20 record overall, 21-5 in the conference, facing Hillsdale on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio.
