COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's softball team completes their regular season this weekend as they host Ursuline and Lake Erie Saturday and Sunday in a pair of twin bills at Panther Field.
Following the doubleheader with Ursuline on Saturday, the three seniors on the softball team will be honored on the field.
Sunday, the Panthers will celebrate Friends of Jaclyn Day for the tenth time. The Panther softball team has supported the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, which is a non-profit charitable organization that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families, since 2010 when the team adopted Reagyn Semler as an honorary team member.
Reagyn graduated from high school last spring and is currently taking classes at Columbus State as well as working as a Vet Tech. When she finishes at Columbus State, she plans to transfer to the Veterinary College at Ohio State.
ODU will also host a silent auction during the games. Prizes from previous years have included Ohio State football tickets, Ohio Dominican Athletics gear and apparel, gift baskets and gift cards. Opportunities for donations will be provided at the games, with 100 percent of proceeds going directly to the FoJ Foundation.
If you are interested in making a donation or learning about the story behind the FoJ Foundation, please visit the organization's website at www.friendsofjaclyn.org.
