NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ohio Dominican's softball team dropped a pair of games with Trevecca Nazarene in G-MAC action Saturday afternoon with final scores of 8-3 and 7-4 in Nashville, Tennessee.
In game one, the Trojans scored twice in the first before the Panthers scored three times in the third to take the lead.
Cameron Barber (Powell, Ohio) who was 2-for-3 in game one ripped a double that scored Kristen Bales (Pickerington, Ohio) and eventually came around to score on a Taylor Farmer (Mt. Blanchard, Ohio) sacrifice fly. Before that, Kelly Mix (Baltimore, Ohio) came around to score on a Brooklyn Rayburn (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) groundout.
However, the Trojans would answer with three runs in the bottom half to regain the lead and would score twice more later in the game to take game one.
In game two, the Panthers took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning as Mix singled up the middle and Rayburn came around to score on a throwing error by the center fielder.
Trevecca would score once in the second and three times in the third to take a 4-1 lead into the fifth inning where ODU would come back to score a run as Mix doubled down the left field line and brought around Rayburn once again.
The Trojans would come back with three runs in the bottom half to add insurance for Trevecca. Mix would hit a two run homer in the seventh to come within 7-4 but the Panthers could not contain the rally late.
ODU drops to 25-17 overall and 15-3 in the conference as they come back to Panther Field to take on Walsh on Saturday, April 20 with the first game starting at 1 p.m.
