COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's softball team dropped back-to-back games for the first time since March 23, falling by final scores of 6-0 and 6-1 to Hillsdale at Panther Field on Saturday in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference doubleheader.
The Panthers (31-18, 17-5 G-MAC) had won 21 of 22 entering play Saturday, but the Chargers (18-14, 12-8) tallied 21 hits on the day while holding Ohio Dominican to just eight for the doubleheader.
In game one, seniors Taylor Kline (Bellville, Ohio) and Liz Sutter (Mansfield, Ohio), sophomore Brooklyn Rayburn (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) and freshman Kristen Bales (Pickerington, Ohio) all tallied one hit apiece, with Bales recording her sixth double of the season.
Going 2-for-2 in the second contest was junior catcher Kelly Mix (Baltimore, Ohio). Kline tallied a hit in her sixth-straight game, while Bales extended her hit streak to four games and is now 6-for-11 at the plate in her last four contests.
Ohio Dominican will take on Findlay and celebrate senior day tomorrow at Panther Field before turning its attention to the Great Midwest Tournament.
