Kline Named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball Player Of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS — Ohio Dominican senior shortstop Taylor Kline (Bellville, Ohio) was named player of the week in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference for week one of the 2018 G-MAC softball season, the conference announced Tuesday.

Kline, who was named to the 2018 Schutt Sports/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Player of the Year Watchlist last week, went 7-for-15 with five RBIs and four stolen bases at the Charger Chillout 2.0. In the Panthers' 16-5 win over Miles on Thursday, Kline went 4-for-5 with three RBIs. She has stolen a base in each of ODU's first four games and has recorded two multi-hit games thus far. Through four games, Kline is batting .467 with a .500 on base percentage and slugging percentage of .667.

A 2017 NFCA Midwest Region First Team and First Team All-GLIAC honoree, Kline currently boasts 110 stolen bases for her career and needs just 32 more to set the ODU softball record for career stolen bases. Last season, Kline was one of just three players in Division II to bat at least .421 and hold a stolen base per game average of .78.
