COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican softball senior shortstop Taylor Kline (Bellville, Ohio) has been named to the 2018 Schutt Sports/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Player of the Year Watchlist, marking the third-straight year that Kline has been highlighted as one of the top 50 student-athletes in Division II to begin the season.
Kline was an NFCA First Team All-Midwest Region selection last season and earned First Team All-GLIAC honors in each of her first three years at ODU, including being named the GLIAC freshman of the year in 2015.
With 38 stolen bases in 2017, Kline finished 12th in the nation in steals and was one of just three players in Division II to bat at least .421 and hold a stolen base per game average of .78.
Kline was one of just six shortstops named to the watchlist and joins Cedarville's Brianne O'Dell as the only G-MAC student-athletes to be selected.
Ohio Dominican begins the 2018 season today with games against Miles and Truman State at the Charger Chillout 2.0 in Huntsville, Alabama.
