CLERMONT, Fla. — Ohio Dominican's softball team earned a 3-2 victory over Charleston (W.V.) and dropped a contest to Truman on Tuesday at the NTC Spring Games.

The Panthers scored a 3-2 victory over the Golden Eagles in game one of the day, holding Charleston to just two runs on 10 hits. ODU recorded seven hits on the afternoon.

Senior Kelly Wallace (Oshkosh, Wisconsin) went 3-for-4 for the second-straight game, also finishing with one RBI. In her last seven contests, Wallace is a scorching 15-for-29 at the plate for an average of .517, recording nine RBIs, one double and one triple during the span.

Junior Liz Sutter (Mansfield, Ohio) finished 2-for-3. Freshman Landry Slider (Stow, Ohio) went 1-for-3, while sophomore Kelly Mix (Baltimore, Ohio) also recorded one hit in the game for Ohio Dominican.

Sophomore pitcher Abby Lamping (Cleves, Ohio) went all seven innings for the Panthers in the circle, allowing just one earned run in the contest to pick up her fifth win of the year.

With the game tied 0-0 in the top of the third, Sutter led off the inning with a bunt for a single. An error allowed Kline to reach first base in the next at bat, and following a double-steal by Sutter and Kline, Sutter would score in the next at bat following a throwing error by the shortstop to get the Panthers on the scoreboard, 1-0. Wallace followed it up with a triple down the right field line, scoring Kline and increasing the Panther advantage to 2-0 through three.

Leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth with two outs, Mix would single to right field, scoring Wallace and increasing the Panther lead to 3-1.

Charleston would score in the bottom of the sixth to cut its deficit to 3-2 and threaten the Panther lead in the bottom of the seventh with runners on the corners with one out, but Lamping would force ground-outs in the next two at-bats, earning the win, 3-2.

Truman topped Ohio Dominican by a final score of 10-1 in five innings in the second game of the day for the Panthers. ODU recorded four hits in the contest, with Kline going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, her 11th of the season.

ODU continues play in the NTC Spring Games on Thursday with contests against Bridgeport at 3:30 p.m. and West Chester at 6 p.m.
