    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Ohio Dominican softball team is headed to the NCAA Division II playoffs for the first time since joining the Division II ranks in 2010. The Panthers are the fifth seed in the Midwest Region and will play Truman State (Mo.) in St. Louis. The tournament runs Friday-Sunday, May 9-11. The NCAA made the announcement this morning.

    COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Dominican softball team finished the regular season strong, and has been rewarded with the number one seed in the GLIAC tournament this weekend. The Panthers finished the regular season with a 25-25 overall record, but their 21-5 GLIAC record won their first regular season conference title since joining the NCAA Division II. The last regular season conference title for the Panthers since 2008 when they were a member of the American Mideast Conference.

ODU won game one 20-4 in five innings and won game two 13-3 in six innings.

    COLUMBUS, Ohio – After a slow start at the plate, the Ohio Dominican softball team’s bats caught fire and the Panthers managed to split a doubleheader with visiting Ashland on Friday afternoon at Panther Field. The Eagles took game one 7-5 in eight innings and the Panthers won game two 8-2.

The Panthers will have a chance to finish the regular season with an overall record above .500 with all four wins. Also, ODU has a chance to take the top spot in the GLIAC tournament being only one game behind Saginaw Valley.

    COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Dominican softball team (18-22, 14-2) will be back on the road this week after eight straight games at home. ODU has played 14 of their last 16 games at home, but will be on the road for six games this week. During the long strand of home games, the Panthers went 12-4 and started GLIAC play 11-0 before falling to Tiffin last Wednesday. After splitting with Tiffin, ODU swept Lake Erie and then split with Walsh on Friends of Jaclyn Day.
