The freshman ace extended her win streak to five games and improved her overall record to 8-4, helping the Panthers to an 8-0 mark on the homestand and 6-0 start in conference play. For the week, Stanzel compiled a 1.50 ERA in 28.0 innings with four complete games and a pair of shutouts. She surrendered just six earned runs on 27 hits and four walks, while striking out 21, including a season-best tying nine K?s in a one-hit, 6-0 shutout of Saginaw Valley State (Mich.) on Sunday.
Stanzel currently leads the GLIAC in complete games (11) and ranks second in shutouts (3) and innings pitched (82.0), third in starts (12), fourth in wins (8), fifth in ERA (1.88) and ninth in strikeouts (44).
The league-leading Panthers begin a formidable stretch of doubleheaders this week, beginning Wednesday at Northern Kentucky, followed by a home bout with No. 4 Indianapolis (Ind.) on Thursday and a four-game weekend set at Wayne State (Mich.).
