Panthers Set Personal Records, Finish Strong at Wilmington Invite

WILMINGTON, Ohio – After Producing the season's top times as a team, and featuring five Panthers with career bests, the Ohio Dominican men and women's cross country teams placed 17th out of 35 teams at the #JennaStrong Fall Classic, hosted by Wilmington College.

Sophomore Shakita Kabciek (Brook Park, Ohio) paced the Panthers in the women's 5k, clocking in with a time of 19:26.93 and a 45th place finish.

Junior Tara Walker (Lewis Center, Ohio) crossed the finish line close behind, finishing the race with a time of 19:50.04 while teammate sophomore Nicole Brown (Columbus, Ohio) had a time of 20:19.81.

Junior Erin Miller (London, Ohio) produced her best time of the season, finishing with an overall time of 20:48.37. Senior Michelle McKean (Pataskala, Ohio) followed a minute later with a time of 21:21.68.

On the men's side, four different Panthers set a personal record. Freshmen Andrew Beier (Belleville, Ohio), Patrick Ferguson (Austintown, Ohio), Tyler Higgins (Middleburg Heights, Ohio) were joined by junior Ethan Miller (Monclova, Ohio).

Beier finished the 8k race with an overall time of 27:12.87, while Ferguson followed closely behind with a 27:20.53. Miller ran a 27:48.24 and Higgins ran a 29:38.91.

Leading the Panthers was junior Michael Barber (New Franklin, Ohio), who ran a 26:54.72.

Ohio Dominican will finish the season at the GLIAC Championships, hosted by Michigan Tech next Satuday, Oct. 26.
