GENEVA, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican track and field teams wrapped up the regular season with the GLIAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Lake Erie at the SPIRE Institute.
Sophomore Taylor Williams (Houston, Texas) highlighted the three-day meet with a second place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.79.
Junior Aaron Johnson (Troy, Ohio) scored points for the Panthers, finishing fifth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.62. The 4x400 relay team of sophomore Michael Hawkins (Columbus, Ohio), Williams, junior Darrell Harley (Columbus, Ohio), and junior Xavier Leonard (Atlanta, Ga.) also finished fifth with a time of 42.01.
Junior Michael Barber (New Franklin, Ohio) ran a 9:49.80 to finish 11th in the steeplechase.
In the field events, junior Tyler Fifer (Westerville, Ohio) was barley outside of the top three in the triple jump, placing fourth with a mark of 14.26 meters. Senior Nick Green (Wapakoneta, Ohio) was in the top-10 in the shot put with a ninth place finish with a throw of 15.51 meters.
On the women's side, freshman Shakita Kabicek (Brook Park, Ohio) ran a 4:57.33 in the 1500 meter run.
Finishing in the top-10 was the 4x400 relay team of Freshmen Amber Schreck (Crestline, Ohio), Kayla Statema (Warren, Ohio), and sophomores Alex Hall (Westerville, Ohio) and Maryann Dike (Toronto, Ontario) with a time of 4:01.33.
In the women's hammer, junior Taylor Williams (Akron, Ohio) cracked into the top-10 with a ninth place finish after throwing 49.66 meters. Sophomore Vogue Hall (Zanesville, Ohio) placed ninth in the javelin with a mark of 31.92 meters.
