COLUMBUS, Ohio -- In the Ohio Dominican track and field program's first intrasquad meet, the Black team scored a 179-167 over the Gold squad Saturday at The Capital Center.

The intrasquad served as a final trial run for the Panther men's and women's track and field teams, who will return to Capital University this Saturday for their first official indoor meet.

Jordan Singleton (Alpharetta, Ga.) scored victories in both the weight throw and shot put for the Black team, and Tyler Fifer (Westerville, Ohio) had wins in both the triple jump and high jump. Larresha Palmer (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) scored a win in the 55 meter dash and 400 meter run and Xavier Leonard (Atlanta, Ga.) took first in the men's 400, while Tara Walker (Lewis Center, Ohio) and Todd Hewitt (Eaton, Ohio) won the women's and men's one-mile run, respectively. Lindsay White (Pickerington, Ohio) also took first in the 55 meter hurdles.

In the relays, the women's 4x400 team of White, Michelle McKean (Pataskala, Ohio), Walker and Palmer took a victory for the Black team, as did the squad of Leonard, Cameron Lowe (Chillicothe, Ohio), Germaine McAlpine (Canton, Ohio) and Dominick Smith (Dayton, Ohio).

Leading the Gold team was Trey Hammons-Scott (Huber Heights, Ohio), who scored a win in the 55 meter hurdles, and Darrell Harley (Westerville, Ohio), who won the 200. The squad also swept the 3000 meter run behind the efforts of Mallory Kitts (Springfield, Ohio) and Michael Barber (New Franklin, Ohio).

"Overall it was a very successful meet and it definitely exceeded all of the coaches expectations," Paul Benedict, head coach, said. "All the athletes treated it like an actual meet and the one thing that came from the day is their willingness to be competitive."
