SKILLMAN, NJ - Ohio Dominican's men's tennis team finished its landmark 2013 season ranked No. 48 in the country, according to the final ITA Top 50 poll released today.
The Panthers qualified for the NCAA Tournament in April, falling to Drury to cap off an impressive 13-10 campaign that saw them finish third in the GLIAC.
After a challenging non-conference slate to begin the year, including matches against several Division I schools, ODU reeled off victories in 12 of 13 matches and pushed GLIAC champion Northwood to the limit in the conference tournament semifinals before falling 5-3.
After bouncing back with a win over Wayne State in the tournament's final day, Ohio Dominican earned an at large bid into the NCAA Tournament, becoming the first Panther team to qualify for postseason play since the university transitioned to Division II in 2011. They were joined a week later by the men's golf team in earning an NCAA Tournament appearance.
The Panthers are slated to return four of their six players from the singles lineup as well as four players with significant doubles experience as well.
