The Ohio Dominican men's tennis team struggled from the outset on Saturday morning, dropping their fourth GLIAC match of the year, 6-3, to host Wayne State University.
Doubles was a struggle from the beginning as the Warriors took early control on all three courts. No Panther team was able to build any momentum as WSU took 3-of-3 courts to lead 3-0 after doubles play.
In singles play, the Panthers looked to rebound as Walid Gtari (Fr./Tunis, Tunisia) earned a 6-0, 6-0 win on court one to give ODU hope. With the Warriors taking the next two courts, the match was sealed, leaving courts five and six still competing. Justin Tjon (Fr./Willemstad, Curacao) and Gerardo Perez (So./Mexico City, Mexico) earned singles points, taking #5 and #6 singles, 6-4, 2-6, 10-4 and 7-5, 7-6, respectively.
The Panthers will now return home for six straight GLIAC matches beginning April 4th. ODU hosts Walsh University in a match that is set to begin at 3 p.m.
