Men's Tennis Welcomes 2012-13 NLI Signee Justin Tjon
The Ohio Dominican men's tennis team recently received their first National Letter of Intent for the 2012-13 season with the signing of Justin Tjon.
Tjon, a native of Curacao, will join a Panther team that returns 5-of-9 players from the 2011-12 campaign. Tjon was a standout junior player with numerous singles and doubles titles in Curacao. Justin was Curacao's #1 ranked junior in each age group before moving to Florida to train and attend school in 2011. Tjon's past accomplishments included the opportunity to represent his country at the Junior Davis Cup in 2008, playing the #1 position. Currently, Justin trains at and attends K-12 International Academy, headed by Diego Dominguez.
"We are excited to have Justin as a student athlete for next fall," said head coach Ryan Beigle. "Justin is a good tennis player and an outstanding student, he will make a major contribution to our programs development and play."
ODU recently finished 5th in the GLIAC in their second season as an NCAA Division II institution.
