Springfield, OH - The Ohio Dominican men's tennis team completed an unscathed week of GLIAC play on Saturday morning with a 9-0 win over visiting Lake Erie College. ODU finished the week with their second consecutive 9-0 victory over GLIAC foes Tiffin and Lake Erie.
Doubles set the tone for the match as the Panthers were able to secure all three doubles courts. Earning points for ODU was Igor Carvalho (Fr./Belem, Brazil) and Bernardo Feitosa (Jr./Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) on court one, 8-2, and Conrad Klank (Sr./Dayton, OH) and Claude Badowski (Jr./Oundle, England) on court two, 8-1. Ernest Martinovic (Sr./Akron, OH) and Alfonso Camacho-Martinez (Sr./Bogota, Colombia) finished off the doubles sweep, earning the 8-5 decision on court three.
In singles play, Ohio Dominican cruised to their fifth win of the season and evened their GLIAC record at 2-2. Winning singles points were Badowski and Carvalho on courts one and two, 6-2, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-3. Carlos Perez (Jr./Miami, FL) and Greg Dillon (Sr./Fort Wayne, IN), along with Bobby McMahan (Sr./Dunwoody, GA) and Klank finished the scoring for the Panthers, adding wins on courts three, four, five and six, respectively.
ODU will return to action on Tuesday, March 29, as they travel to Northern Kentucky University for a non-conference, regional, match-up with the Norse. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m.
