COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's men's soccer team won its third straight Great Midwest Athletic Conference game with a final score of 4-1 over Trevecca Nazarene on Wednesday at Panther Stadium.
With the win, ODU rises to 6-4 overall and 5-2 in the G-MAC while Trevecca drops to 5-3-1 overall and 4-3 in the conference.
Kasprzak got the scoring started for the Panthers in the 20th minute as he stole a pass from a Trojan and broke away from the pack to find the back of the net for his third goal of the year to put the Panthers up 1-0.
Just six minutes later, Barnes found the back of the net himself. Freshman Zach Ziolo (Dublin, Ohio) sent a pass over the Trojan defense to a streaking Barnes who netted his fifth goal of the year and put the Panthers up 2-0.
Trevecca would cut the Panther lead in half at 2-1 in the 30th minute as Ethan Keogh nailed his free kick in the back of the net which is where the score would be through the first 45 minutes.
ODU outshot the Trojans 11-8 in the first half while having a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The second half scoring began in the 73rd minute as Barnes connected with Kasprzak on a cross to the left side of the box where he finished lower left past the Trojan goalkeeper.
Barnes sealed the game in the 79th minute as he snaked through the Trojan defense on a solo breakaway and put the Panthers up 4-1 where the 90 minutes would run out.
Senior goalkeeper Alec Mathew (Pataskala, Ohio) played all 90 minutes between the posts for the Panthers recording one save on two shots.
The Panthers turn their attention to Cedarville as the Yellow Jackets come to Panther Stadium on Saturday, September 29 with kickoff set for 5:30 p.m.
