COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican men's soccer junior forward Ryan Kasprzak (Hilliard, Ohio) has been named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Third Team, marking the 11th all-region honor from United Soccer Coaches in ODU men's soccer program history.
Kasprzak is the first to receive a United Soccer Coaches all-region award for the Panthers since the 2013 season after scoring eight goals and dishing out four assists in his junior year, leading Ohio Dominican to a berth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament and its highest win total since 2013. Kasprzak also received D2CCA All-Midwest Region Second Team honors a season ago.
With 24 career goals, Kasprzak currently sits in a tie for sixth place all-time in ODUMS history for goals scored in a career and ranks in a tie for fifth in career points tallied at ODU with 57.
Kasprzak is an exercise science major who has also earned accolades for his work in the classroom, earning CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honors this season and taking home GLIAC Academic Excellence honors in 2016.
Ohio Dominican earned its first trip to the postseason since the 2013 season this year and notched a six-match winning streak in the month of October, its longest string of victories since the 2007 season. Kasprzak played a major role in the late season success for the Panthers, scoring five goals and recording three assists during the span.
