COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican scored three goals in the first half to key a 3-0 victory against Findlay on Senior Day at Panther Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Six Ohio Dominican seniors, Tanner Ebright (Pickerington, Ohio), Shane Facemyer (Sunbury, Ohio), Michael Fragoulis (Chios, Greece), Michael Mueller (Aurora, Illinois), Andrew Schwall (Gahanna, Ohio) and Brent Wahle (Pataskala, Ohio) were honored prior to the match for their career accomplishments and contributions at Ohio Dominican.
The Panthers (7-11-0, 7-9-0) finish their season with a fifth place GLIAC finish while earning four more victories than in 2015.
ODU held a decisive 22-7 edge in shots over the Oilers (7-10-1, 6-9-1 GLIAC) while also holding a 10-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Panthers also earned 14 corner kicks compared to four corner kicks for Findlay.
Sophomore Ryan Kasprzak (Hilliard, Ohio) led ODU with two goals on two shots on goal and one assist. The match marked his second-highest point output of the year.
Freshman Cameron Christian (Pataskala, Ohio) scored his fourth goal of the year in the contest, notching two goals in his last three matches. Wahle and Schwall finished with two shots on goal and Facemyer added one shot on goal in their final matches as Panthers.
Junior goalkeeper Clayton Hildebrand (Findlay, Ohio) recorded two saves in 90 minutes of action between the posts.
ODU's offense struck in the 24th minute, as Kasprzak scored from the middle of the box on assists from Fragoulis and sophomore Babacar Ba (Columbus, Ohio) to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.
In the 32nd minute, Kasprzak scored again, this time on an assist from Facemyer that increased the Ohio Dominican advantage to 2-0.
Then just one minute later, Christian scored on a header with assists from Kasprzak and Wahle to give ODU a decisive 3-0 lead, which it maintained to the final whistle.
With the win, Ohio Dominican ends the season with a win for the second-consecutive year and will look forward to 2017.
