Men’s Soccer Hosts Ashland, October Food Drive On Sunday

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Following a 2-0 win against No. 23 Saginaw Valley last Friday and a 3-0 defeat against Northwood on Sunday, Ohio Dominican's men's soccer team prepares to face Ashland this Sunday, October 23 at Panther Stadium.  Kickoff is at 1 p.m., with the Panthers looking to improve on their 4-2 home record.

On Sunday, Ohio Dominican will be collecting canned food items as part of its October Food Drive. Fans are encouraged to bring canned food items to Panther Stadium, which will be collected throughout the men's and women's soccer doubleheader Sunday.

The Panthers (5-9-0, 5-7-0 GLIAC) currently sit in sixth place in the GLIAC and will look to make a push towards the conference tournament with four matches remaining in the regular season.

As a team, ODU enters the match in fourth place in the GLIAC in goals scored (21), shots on goal (191), and points (57).  They are fifth in the conference with 13.6 shots per game and third in the GLIAC with 15 assists on the year.

Ohio Dominican is led by sophomore Ryan Kasprzak (Hilliard, Ohio), whose seven goals on the season ranks third in the GLIAC.  His 45 shots on goal lead the conference, and his 16 points rank third in the GLIAC.  Senior forward Tanner Ebright's (Pickerington, Ohio) three goals on the season are tied for 13th overall in the GLIAC in goals scored.  Senior midfielder Brent Wahle (Pataskala, Ohio) leads Ohio Dominican in assists with three on the year, good for a seventh place tie in the conference.

On the defensive side, junior goalkeeper Clayton Hildebrand (Findlay, Ohio) is fifth in the conference in saves with 41 on the year. 

About Ashland

The Eagles (4-9-1, 2-9-1 GLIAC) are coming into Sunday's match with a 2-5-1 road record.  They are 9th in the GLIAC overall and are 0-6-1 in their last seven matches. 

Ashland is led by forward Tomas Cordeiro with three goals on the year, and senior goalkeeper Nick Ciraldo leads the conference in saves with 83.  AU ranks ninth in the GLIAC in goals scored (11) and seventh in goals allowed (24).
