TIFFIN, Ohio — Two goals by No. 23 Tiffin's Andre Landell in the second half were enough to allow the Dragons to pull away and win by a final score of 2-0 against Ohio Dominican's men's soccer team in a GLIAC match on Friday afternoon.
The Panthers (3-6-0, 3-4-0 GLIAC) accrued five corner kicks compared to three for Tiffin, but were out-shot 13-6 for the game.
Senior Brent Wahle (Pataskala, Ohio) and sophomore Ryan Kasprzak (Hilliard, Ohio) each finished with two shots apiece for the Panthers. Freshman Alec Mueller (Minerva, Ohio) recorded the lone shot on goal of the game for the Panthers, and senior Tanner Ebright (Pickerington, Ohio) also chipped in a shot for the ODU offense.
The Panther defense held strong in the first half, with junior goalkeeper Clayton Hildebrand (Findlay, Ohio) recording three saves in the first half on nine Tiffin shots to preserve a 0-0 tie heading into the locker room.
But Tiffin's Andre Landell scored two goals in the second half, striking in the 64th minute to give the Dragons a 1-0 lead, and then again in the 87th minute, extending the Tiffin advantage to 2-0.
Ohio Dominican will travel to Findlay for its next match on Sunday at 2 p.m.
