VIENNA, W. Va. — Ohio Dominican's men's soccer team fell 3-2 (OT) to Ohio Valley in a closely contested, non-conference match on Thursday afternoon.
The Panthers (2-4, 2-2 GLIAC) held a 10-8 advantage in shots on goal against the Fighting Scots despite being outshot 21-13 overall.
The Panthers struck first, scoring in the 14th minute as sophomore Jorge Aldalla (Whitehall, Ohio) found the back of the net at the 13:49 mark of the first half to earn his first goal of the year and give Ohio Dominican a 1-0 lead.
Just moments later, sophomore Ryan Kasprzak (Hilliard, Ohio) scored his fourth goal of the season on an assist from fellow sophomore Phillip Kelly (Gahanna, Ohio) to push the Panther lead to 2-0 at the 14:27 mark of the first half.
ODU held a 2-0 lead at halftime, recording six shots on goal out of six shots overall in the first half.
But the Fighting Scots responded coming out of the break, scoring two goals in the second half and a goal just minutes into overtime to earn the victory against Ohio Dominican, 3-2.
The Panthers will look to regroup as they travel to Ashland on Sunday to take on the Eagles in a GLIAC match beginning at 5 p.m.
