About the Panthers:

ODU concluded the regular season as the Co-Champions of the South Division after defeating Malone 3-1 on Friday, Oct. 26 and falling to Notre Dame (OH) 2-1 on Sunday, Oct. 28.

In the win over the Pioneers, three Panthers tallied scores that included senior Casey Weddle (Cincinnati, Ohio), freshman Brent Wahle (Pataskala, Ohio) and senior Justin Wheeler (Gahanna, Ohio).

Wahle led the team with three points behind a goal in the second half and as assist on Wheeler's score. Wahle's goal was the fourth of the season and he leads all Panther freshman in goals with four and assists with four.

After a 2-1 victory over Notre Dame College earlier in the season, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team couldn't overcome a 2-1 deficit as Falcons defeated the Panthers on Panther Field Sunday afternoon on senior day.

Senior Colby Catlett (Hilliard, Ohio) jump started the Panthers, scoring at the 11:35 mark for his fourth goal of the season after sophomore Jakob Szabo (Worthington, Ohio) sent a ball through the defense.

About the Pioneers:

Malone went 0-2-0 last week, falling to the Panthers on Panther Field, before falling 2-1 at Lake Erie in the regular season finale. On Friday, Kelvin Aquino scored the Pioneers lone goal in the 3-1 loss. The Storm took the early 2-0 lead against the Pioneers, but Adam Sharpnack scored his second goal of the season in the 86th minute to make the score 2-1. The Storm held onto the win, giving the Pioneers their second loss in three days.

The Series:
Tuesday's quarterfinal will be the third matchup this season and 13th time since 1997 that ODU and Malone have met on the field. The Panthers hold a 10-3-0 record in the series, including a 1-1-0 mark this year.
