COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's men's golf team takes on the Ohio Cup this Saturday, at Red Hawk Run Golf Club in Findlay, Ohio.
The Panthers are coming off a fourth place finish at the ODU Kickoff Classic where they shot a 588 in the one day 36-hole event at Jefferson Country Club. Also, the 291 they shot in the second round was the second lowest round in relation to par in team history.
Ohio Dominican looks to feed off their momentum from the second round in the Ohio Cup this Saturday.
On Tuesday, the Panthers were led by freshman Robert Holden (Hertfordshire, England) who tied for eighth with a score of 145 (+1) with an even par 72 and a 73 (+1) in the second round.
Senior Drew Wayman (Wapakoneta, Ohio) will come in to the Ohio Cup after a tie for 16th at the ODU Kickoff Classic after posting an even par first round (72) and a 75 (+3) in the second round.
Freshman Ben Herman (Germantown, Ohio) looks to feed off the momentum of his second round as he improved six shots in his second round after posting a 77 in round one coming back to shoot -1, 71 in the second round.
Junior Blake Saffell (Somerset, Ohio) led the field in par five scoring on Tuesday shooting -5 on the par fives. He is coming off a tie for 19th where he posted rounds of 77 and 72 on Tuesday.
Freshman Dalton Crowley (Nashport, Ohio) will be round out the Panther five. Crowley shot 73 in the opening round at the ODU Kickoff Classic and 79 on the last 18.
This is the first time the Panthers will participate in the Ohio Cup.
