COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's men's golf team will compete in its third tournament of the 2017 fall season this weekend when the squad travels to the Mohawk Golf and Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio for the Kyle Ryman Memorial Invitational.
The tournament, hosted by Tiffin, will span Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1.
ODU was last in action at the Great Midwest Fall Invitational, where the team finished with a 27-hole score of 469. Leading the way for the Panthers at the Findlay Country Club was freshman Jack Rubin (Hilliard, Ohio), who finished in a tie for 13th out of 55 competitors with a 112 (70-42). Rubin leads the squad in scoring average thus far with an average round score of 75.4.
Sophomores Blake Saffell (Somerset, Ohio) and Ryan Simi (Newark, Ohio) are both averaging career-lows of 77.1 per round this season. Junior Drew Wayman (Wapakoneta, Ohio) boasts an average round score 79.4 through 3.5 rounds, and senior Ryan Thompson (Dunfermline, Scotland) is averaging an 80.0 thus far.
The OVU Highlands Cup Challenge at the Marietta Country Club on Sunday, October 8 will be the next tournament for the Panthers following competition at the Kyle Ryman Memorial this weekend.
