Men’s Golf Ready To Tee Off This Fall

COLUMBUS, Ohio — With seven returning letter winners and six newcomers to the program, Ohio Dominican's men's golf team is ready to begin the 2017-18 campaign.

The squad will hit the course for the first time as a team this Saturday, August 26 in its annual Family and Friends Outing at Cumberland Trail Golf Club in Pataskala and will host the ODU Kickoff Classic to start the season on Tuesday, September 5 at Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick.

Leading the way for ODU's returners is senior Ryan Thompson (Dunfermline, Scotland), who finished with the Panthers' third-lowest scoring average a season ago at 77.3 en route to notching two top 20 and top 10 finishes on the year. Returners Mark Creamer (Saratago, California), Ryan Simi (Newark, Ohio), Drew Wayman (Wapakoneta, Ohio), Blake Saffell (Somerset, Ohio) will also look to make impacts after combining for 76 rounds played last season.

After hosting the ODU Kickoff Classic on September 5, the Panthers will prepare for the Great Midwest Fall Championship at Findlay Country Club, September 18-19. Overall, ODU will compete in five matches this fall before transitioning to the spring season.
