GRANVILLE, Ohio — With a two-round team score of 603 (302-301), Ohio Dominican's men's golf team finished in second place overall while senior Austin Goodridge (Lima, Ohio) and freshman Blake Saffell (Somerset, Ohio) each shot a 148 to finish in a tie for third at the Ted Barclay Invitational at the Denison Golf Club on Sunday.
Goodridge tied his season-low tournament score of 148, using round scores of 76-72 to finish in a tie for third overall. Saffell also finished third through competition as an individual, shooting career-low rounds of 74-74 to establish a new, low tournament score of 148.
ODU also saw junior Ryan Thompson (Dunfermline, Scotland), senior Marshall Stretch (Liberty Township, Ohio) and sophomore Drew Wayman (Wapakoneta, Ohio) each record top 10 finishes. Thompson finished with a season-low tournament score of 150 (75-75) to finish in seventh place out of 50 total competitors. Stretch shot a 152 (75-77) to finish in a tie for eighth, recording his second-straight, top 10 finish after taking sixth place at the MVNU Cougar Classic. Wayman notched his second top 10 finish of the year with a two-round score of 153 (76-77).
Freshman Ryan Simi (Newark, Ohio) established a new, low tournament score of 154 (80-74) to finish in a tie for 13th.
Ohio Dominican will look forward to the GLIAC Championship at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, beginning on Friday, April 21 and concluding on Sunday, April 23.
