Men’s Golf Takes 10th At Motor City Invitational; Thompson Leads Team With 26th Place Finish

DEARBORN, Mich. — With a total two-day team score of 638, Ohio Dominican's men's golf team earned 10th place and senior Ryan Thompson (Dunfermline, Scotland) finished with a 156 (78-78) to place in a tie for 26th out of 82 competitors and lead the team at the Motor City Invitational at TPC Michigan.

Thompson shot just under his average round score of 78.6 in both rounds of the tournament, with this outing marking his best 36-hole tournament of the season.

Freshman Ryan Simi (Newark, Ohio) recorded a career-low round of 73 on day two of the tournament, turning in an overall score of 161 (88-73) to place in a tie for 41st and finish third on the team. Simi's round two score of 73 was the lowest round score for Ohio Dominican.

Senior Zach Willmes (Cincinnati, Ohio) placed in a tie for 37th overall and finished second on the squad with a 159 (78-81).

Sophomore Drew Wayman (Wapakoneta, Ohio) came in with a 167 (80-87), and senior Austin Goodridge (Lima, Ohio) shot a 170 (87-83) for the Panthers.

Overall, the team finished in 10th place out of 15 competing teams, marking the third top ten finish of the fall for Ohio Dominican.
