Panthers Finish Eighth at Atlantic Region Invite

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio - Ohio Dominican's men's golf team battled to an eighth place finish on Tuesday at the two-day, 54-hole Atlantic Region Powerade Invitational at River Greens GC in West Lafayatte, Ohio.

With a total score of 910 (311-298-301), the Panthers narrowly missed on seventh position by two strokes and edged out former AMC rival, Cedarville, by four strokes for eighth place. Malone cruised to the team title with a score of 853 (-11) behind three rounds at even or below par, outdistancing runner-up and host Charleston (W. Va.) by 18 shots. 

Junior Connor Stookey (Milford, OH) and freshman Eric Brown (Batavia, OH) finished in a four-way tie for 35th at 227 (+11) to lead ODU. Stookey posted rounds of 77, 72 and 78 and Brown shot 77, 76 and 74, while junior Tyler Sebert (Grove City, OH) was one shot back in a tie for 39th with rounds of 78, 74 and 76.

The Panthers are back in action next Sunday as they head to Southaven, Mich. for the two-day Great Lakes Regional #1 at Hawkshead GC.
