Panthers Claim Second Place at Kisor Classic
PATASKALA, Ohio – Following a first round that featured high winds and unseasonably chilly temperatures, the Ohio Dominican men's golf team took advantage of better playing conditions in the second round of the afternoon to improve on their fourth position and finish second at the 36-hole ODU Kisor Classic at the Panthers' home course of Cumberland Trail.

With a solid team score of 312 in the tough morning weather, Columbus State was able to distance themselves for the team crown, while ODU, improved by 18 strokes, shooting the low team round of the day with a total of 306 in the afternoon to finish comfortably in second, eight shots back.
Seven Panthers, led by junior transfer Connor Stookey (Milford, OH), finished in the top-15 on Thursday. Stookey earned a fifth place finish after posting a total score of 153 (+9), including sharing a team low round of the day of 74 in the second 18 holes. Kevin Hartoin (Jr./Cincinnati, OH) shot 156 (82-74) to finish in a tie for eighth, while freshman Eric Brown (Batavia, OH) finished in 12th, shooting 159 (+15).
Competing as individuals, Gabriel Schumacher (So./Porto Alegre, Brazil) finished seventh with a 155 (+11), Gary Wright Jr. (Sr./Warsaw,OH) was 10th at thirteen-over par, Conor O'Hea (Fr./Middletown, OH) tied for 13th with a total of 160 (+16) and Alex Nikias (So./Cincinnati, OH) tied for 15th at seventeen-over par.
ODU is back on course next Monday, Sept. 19 as the Panthers take part in the two-day Atlantic Region Powerade Invitational at River Greens GC in West Lafayette.
