KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2017-18 Team Academic Excellence Awards list as created by the NABC Committee on Academics.
These awards recognize outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2017-18 season. The Panthers had a cumulative team GPA of 3.17 throughout the 2017-18 school year.
The Panthers are one of 184 men's basketball teams across all divisions to be named on the list joining Findlay and Ohio Valley as the only G-MAC schools.
In order to earn a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, institutions in the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA must count the grade point averages of all men's student-athletes who competed during the 2017-18 season.
Ohio Dominican ended the year with a 20-11 over record, winning the G-MAC conference tournament title, and earning their first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament.
